Advancing consumer focused private health sector reform
Bupa supports practical reforms that give Australians greater access to contemporary, high-quality care while improving the affordability and long-term sustainability of the private health system.
In our response to the Australian Government’s Private Health Sector Reform – Consultation Paper 1, we support measures to expand mental health care outside hospital settings, improve access to innovative maternity care models and strengthen Hospital in the Home.
We also call for reforms to protect consumer choice and improve the transparency of private health insurance products. We want to ensure proposed changes are supported by robust evidence and financial modelling to deliver value for consumers.
Our submission recommends a coordinated, long-term reform agenda that delivers better value and outcomes for our members, supports innovation and strengthens Australia’s private health system for the future.
