Bupa Cedar Manor residents show off their dancing skills

As part of “Shall We Dance”, Bupa’s nationwide event held throughout July, a masquerade ball was held at Bupa Cedar Manor.

Residents and staff at the home were whisked off their feet at the ball, which encouraged people to get moving to promote healthy ageing and improved mobility for residents.

The event was held on a Saturday evening, with residents sporting their own masks for the occasion.

The night included performances by a band, a DJ, with special guest performances by professional dancers Kirstin and Daniel, who have previously featured in Dancing with the Stars.

Care Home Manager, Jane Verry, said everyone had been looking forward to the event - especially resident, Noelene Archer.

Previously a dancer with framed medals for the foxtrot dance in her room, Noelene was able to relive her dancing past at the ball, dancing the foxtrot with a professional dancer.

It was truly special watching them dance, she was gazing up into his eyes and afterwards could just not believe it and kept saying, I can’t believe I have danced with a proper dancer again. I have never seen anyone’s eyes light up so much!
