Bupa makes new Head Dentist appointment
Bupa Dental Corporation (BDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Cathryn Madden as Head Dentist. As part of the role, Dr Madden will be responsible for the oversight of clinical governance, safety and care across 221 practices in Bupa’s dental network around Australia and New Zealand.
Having previously filled the position of Victorian Clinical Lead, Cathryn brings 19 years of dentistry experience to the role and has worked across hospital, public, corporate and private environments. She also continues to care for patients in private practice.
Dr Kavita Lobo, BDC’s Clinical Director, said Dr Madden is a passionate champion for clinical quality and oral health.
“More than half a million Australians and New Zealanders trust us with their dental care each year. We are excited to have Dr Madden take up the role of Head Dentist and work with our clinical and practice teams as part of our ongoing commitment to clinical best practice, safety and continuous education,” said Dr Lobo.
Since Dr Madden first joined Bupa in 2019, the dental industry has experienced a significant number of changes.
“The biggest change has been the response to the global pandemic by way of the introduction of COVID-19 safety protocols in dental practices, which have changed how dental treatment is provided,” said Dr Madden.
“There are exciting times ahead in dentistry with huge advances in dental technology altering the way we care for our patients’ oral health; virtual consultations have become more commonplace along with advances in treatment planning technology and smart toothbrushes.”
