Bupa releases 2025 Modern Slavery Statement
As a purpose-led organisation, Bupa Australia is committed to helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world.
For us to live our purpose, it is vital that we better understand the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains and take steps to continuously improve our work to uphold human rights.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been prepared in accordance with the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), covering the reporting period between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025. Throughout the year, we improved our approach to managing and responding to modern slavery risk. In the reporting period, we:
Launched our new third-party governance system, requiring suppliers of potentially higher modern slavery risk to complete a modern slavery due diligence questionnaire at onboarding;
Uplifted our governance of modern slavery risk, including through the new modern slavery standard and enhanced reporting to Bupa Australia management;
Refreshed our modern slavery training module training module to better illustrate what modern slavery is and how it can occur; and
Continued to collaborate within our sector, with civil society and, newly, with the Australian Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s Office.
We are committed to taking steps to continuously improve our response to modern slavery. In 2026, we are focused on governance; strengthening supplier due diligence; further educating our people; and collaborating internally and with external modern slavery experts.
Effectively tackling modern slavery requires strategic collaboration between industry, government, civil society and people with lived experience. Bupa Australia is committed to playing our part to help make a better world for all.
