Bupa's Life Rewards saves members $1.5 million

From gift cards to restaurants to eStores, how Bupa members have saved $1.5 million using our rewards and recognition program Life Rewards.

Bupa Health Insurance members have saved more than $1.5 million on everyday items and experiences since the health insurer launched its tiered rewards and loyalty program, Life Rewards less than a year ago.

Life Rewards continues to grow in popularity among Bupa members, as they maximise savings on everyday essentials including one member who has spent more than $148,000, saving themself over $5000 on purchases from Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and eBay.

A snapshot of member purchasing behaviours shows discounted eGift cards are the most popular product in the program, with the popular brands including:

  • JB Hi-Fi, $270,000 in total savings
  • Woolworths, $175,000 in total savings
  • The Good Guys, $95,000 in total savings

Members are enjoying the savings on the Life Rewards eShop with the popular items being Bose noise cancelling headphones, Garmin smart watches, toasters and fitness trackers.

Dining out is also a favourite amongst members who enjoy 10% off their bill at some the Australia’s popular restaurants, powered by Best Restaurants, with the favourites being The Meat and Wine Co., Aria, Bennelong, O Bar and Flower Drum.

Bupa Health Insurance Loyalty General Manager Shannon Orbons said since Life Rewards launched less than one year ago, members had embraced the program, which continued to evolve in offers, promotions and enhancements based on member feedback.

“We’re ensuring our offerings from the range of discounted eGift cards, restaurants and retail stores are relevant to the needs of everyday Australians and we’ll continue to adapt to market trends and member demands.

“With the ongoing cost of living challenges impacting many of our members, Life Rewards has played a big part in helping take pressures off household budgets like saving more than $138,000 on grocery shopping, more than $5,000 worth of fuel savings and saving $35,000 with our discounted cinema offerings.”

Life Rewards, a first of its kind loyalty program for a large health insurer and gives Bupa members complimentary access to more than 100 discounted eGift Cards, discounted cinema experiences, 10% off at more than 300 restaurants Australia wide, cashback and access to discounted offers with leading retail brands.

It also comprises of five membership tiers, and members can unlock elevated offers within each tier the longer they’re a Bupa member.
