Bupa’s Sami Yalavac recognised as one of Australia's top technology leaders

Summary

Bupa Asia Pacific Chief Information Officer, Sami Yalavac has been named as Australia’s 12th most innovative and transformative technology leader in the CIO50 2021 Awards, a globally respected list recognising the achievements of Australia's top 50 senior technology and digital executives.

Over the past year, Sami delivered a range of customer-focused innovations across Bupa’s health insurance, aged care, optical and dental businesses. This included introducing artificial intelligence-enabled eye tests, gaming systems designed for aged care residents living with cognitive challenges and advancing Bupa’s telehealth capabilities for health insurance customers through offering physiotherapy exercise plans delivered via virtual reality. 

Bupa Asia Pacific Chief Information Officer, Sami Yalavac said these achievements were made possible by his passionate technology team, who are sharply focussed on seeking out new opportunities that can fundamentally change the experience for Bupa’s customers.
