Changes to the Government’s Omicron response plan

Update to Bupa Care Home Residents, Families and Whānau

Dear residents, families and whānau,

Last week we communicated some changes to the Government’s Omicron response plan and restrictions in place under ‘Red’ in the Traffic Light System.

Please see a reminder below of the key changes coming into place from 11.59pm this evening, Monday 4 April.

  • Visitors will no longer be required to present a My Vaccine Pass at our care homes or villages.
  •  In our care homes this means, both vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors may resume visiting under the same visitor guidelines (as below).

The following visiting requirements remain in place at all Bupa Care Homes

  • We will be continuing to ask all visitors, including children, to undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT) on arrival at the care home and before visiting their loved one. We will provide this test.
  • Visiting hours at our care homes are between 11am and 2pm, with visiting on the weekend on [Saturday/Sunday]. If you are unable to visit during these times, please contact the care home to organise your visit.
  • Visitors must wear a surgical mask at all times.
  • Residents can have up to 2 visitors at a time. Visitors are encouraged to visit residents in their room, where possible, and maintain 1 metre physical distancing.
  •  Visitors should stay at home if they have COVID-19 symptoms, are a household contact of someone with COVID-19, or are a confirmed case.

We thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
