Happiness is Dog Shaped

We’re excited to announce “Happiness is Dog Shaped” has arrived. This is not ‘just a book’, it’s 120 pages worth of happiness.

The pages of ‘Happiness is Dog Shaped’ are filled with images and ‘tails’ about our favourite four-legged friends and joy they bring to their humans.

From Jerry the cheeky cavoodle escapee who sent her owner running down the road naked trying to catch her, to Whisper and Latte, two volunteer pups who brighten the life of a 104 year old resident at a Bupa Aged Care home.

The pages are sure to make you laugh out loud or perhaps even shed a tear.

The book is the brain child of dog-lover and Bupa Best Pet Blog 2016 winner, Karan White.

“I wanted to publish a book which combined every day stories of the happiness dogs bring to their human families,” she said.

“From being a part of engagements and growing up with children, to working as therapy and support dogs – our pets are an enormous part of our lives and I couldn’t think of anything better than a book filled with dog-loving tales.”

The stunning coffee table display has been proudly sponsored by Bupa.

“This has been such a fun project to work on,” says Bupa photographer and journalist Christie Cooper.

“There are so many beautiful stories highlighting the power of the connection between dogs and their owners, and one of the recurring themes was how protective dogs often are of their owners.

“Pets are such a special part of the family, which is why we think it’s so important to protect them too, with Bupa Pet Insurance.

“It was amazing to learn about some of the incredible bonds people have with their dogs, like blogger Jessica Bean living with cystic fibrosis. Her dog Perra is like a 24-hour nurse, keeping an eye on her breathing through the night, waking her husband for help if she’s struggling, and supporting Jessica back to health after operations. They’re pretty special animals."

Captain from the much loved dog adventure company 'Tom and Captain' also features in the book.

Proceeds from the purchase of the book are donated to Happiness is Dog Shaped charity partners: Pets of the Homeless and Dachshund IVDD Support Australia.

Pets of the Homeless provides food, veterinary care and other support to the pets of people experiencing or facing homelessness. Dachshund IVDD Support Australia raises awareness and provides support to the owners of Dachshunds with Intervertebral Disc Degeneration.

The book can be purchased online here for $34.95.
