A blessing of the land was held last week at the new Bupa Retirement Village development on Ulyatt Road, Napier.

The $76 million development’s first stage will include the construction of 34 one-bedroom and two-bedroom villas designed by JTB Architects. The five hectare flat land was once a turf growing site for the local area in Napier.

“This is will be the second care home but the first retirement village development for Bupa in the Hawke’s Bay area and we are pleased to expand in the region to meet the increasing demand,” Jamie says.

When completed, the village will comprise of 101 villas, 16 serviced apartments, and 56 care home rooms. Once operational, the retirement village and care home will employ up to 80 staff.

In New Zealand, Bupa supports its residents through a range of health and care services. Bupa has 48 care homes, 7 rehabilitation sites and 34 retirement villages across New Zealand. Stage one construction begins in early August.
