Prime 7: Dedication and the right attitude

TAFE student and carer at Bupa Aged Care Wodonga, Sara Ngalula is proof that dedication and the right attitude are key to success.

When she fled Congo as a refugee in 2015, Sara Ngalula knew she wanted to contribute something valuable to Australia.

She fell in love with the idea of caring for people and has been on a mission to become a nurse ever since.

After successfully completing four certificates through TAFE NSW in Albury, she is living out her dream at Bupa Aged Care in Wodonga and is currently studying a Diploma of Nursing.

Sara is extremely passionate about working in aged care and spoke to Prime 7 about her incredibly rewarding role as a carer and how welcoming and supportive the staff have been.

"I love my job and I love being able to make a difference in people's lives," she said.

"The residents are so lovely and it's a privilege to be able to help someone who might be struggling. Bupa has been so supportive to me."
