Meet Jackie: a carer at Bupa Aged Care Clemton Park

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jackie talks about her role as a Carer at Bupa Aged Care Clempton Park in NSW.

“
I’ve been a carer for 33 years and when I first started at our Mosman home as a junior aid, I was just 16 years old. There was a senior nurse there named Lorraine who pulled me into shape and taught me right from wrong.

She taught me to look after people in the same way that I’d like to be looked after and I've carried that on ever since. She was strict for a cause and I am who I am now because of that training.

Some of the residents say some funny things that make you laugh. You've got to be able to have a laugh in this job. I am very happy and don't take anything personally.
