Meet Jeanne: a registered nurse at Bupa Aged Care Caulfield

I grew up in Sri Lanka but migrated to Australia for university. I finished my nursing degree and then applied for the graduate nurse program at Bupa. I started as a graduate nurse and then continued on as a registered nurse.

Why nursing? I was always interested in biology and the human body. My uncle is a doctor back home and my auntie is a nurse. In a hospital, you never really know who the person is because you rarely get to see them a second time.

In aged care, you get to know the residents well and in addition to person's vital signs, you can look at the resident and just know something is wrong by reading their body language or knowing what their words mean.
