Meet Valerie: a cleaner at Bupa Aged Care Morphettville in South Australia.
Valerie has been with Bupa Morphetville for more than three decades, she shares what she loves about her job.
“
When I first came to the home 34 years ago, I wanted a part time job so I could look after my children but it’s the people who’ve since kept me here. I like being active so I could never do a desk job.
Being a cleaner enables me to mix with the residents which is great because I like talking to them and joking with them as we always have plenty of laughs.
This brightens both my day and theirs - old people love a joke, they don’t want you to be serious all the time.
