Bupa’s submission to the Independent Hospital and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) supports the development of a transparent and sustainable pricing framework that reflects the true cost of delivering residential aged care.
Our submission highlights ongoing funding challenges across the sector and emphasises the need for pricing arrangements that better capture the full scope of care delivery, including workforce, compliance and accommodation costs.
We have identified key priorities for reform, including improved recognition of higher costs in regional areas, more accurate indexation to reflect rising operating costs and funding models that support integration between aged care and the broader health system.
